Screening


Health screenings are tests that look for diseases before you have symptoms. Screening tests can find diseases early, when they're easier to treat.

What you should expect from your GP practice:

 

  • GP practices will work with the Area Team to increase the number of people screened for breast, bowel, cervical cancers; diabetic eye disease and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (swelling of the aorta, the largest blood vessel in the body)

  • If you are invited to a screening and do not attend, your practice will follow this up by inviting you to attend again
