Health protection


The best way to protect people from many preventable diseases is immunisation.

What you should expect from your GP practice:   

 

  • You will be offered the flu vaccination if you are:

    • Aged 65 and over

    • Have a long-term health condition and classed to be ‘at risk’

    • Children aged 2 to 4 years old

  • If you are aged 65 and over, you will be offered the pneumococcal vaccination to help protect against infections like pneumonia, meningitis and septicaemia

  • If you do not attend your vaccination appointment, your practice will invite you again

  • Your practice will record if you have had the vaccinations
